Heather Gasner

Preschool Director

Miss Heather is the Director of St. Andrew's by the Sea Episcopal Preschool. Heather is born and raised in San Diego! She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development and has worked in the field for the past 30 years as a Teacher, Mentor, Director and NAEYC Validator. Working together with parents and staff, she continually seeks new and creative ways to assure that each child fulfills his/her potential and has their needs met. Heather believes that children learn through play and strives to provide a rich and stimulating environment that promotes development in the whole child including the social, physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual side of each child. She looks forward to meeting and sharing with you our quality enriched preschool program here at St. Andrew’s. Heather has her Site Supervisor Permit in Child Development and has been working at St. Andrew's by-the-Sea Preschool since 2012.

Erin Cabrera

Assistant Director

Miss Erin is the Assistant Director at St. Andrew's by-the-Sea Preschool. Erin is born and raised in Pacific Beach. She loves being a part of the development of the children, particularly through her love for the creative arts. She enjoys providing a positive educational experience full of discovery and fun. She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Early Childhood Education along with her Site Supervisor Permit. Miss Erin has been a teacher at St. Andrew's by-the-Sea Preschool since 2007.

Nina Sanborn

Lead Teacher, Pre-Kindergarten Ocean Explorers Classroom

Miss Nina is the Ocean Explorers teacher in the Pre-K classroom. Nina is originally from the Bay Area in Northern California. She received a Bachelor's of Science in Kinesiology in the Fall of 2011 from California State University Sacramento. She has extensive experience working with children including- working in a Reggio inspired preschool, coaching gymnastics and cheerleading, working on the Disney cruise ship and many nanny and babysitting jobs. Nina has a Site Supervisor Permit in Child Development and has been teaching at St. Andrew's by-the-Sea Preschool since 2013.

Debra Savel

Outdoor Otters Classroom Teacher

Miss Debra is our Outdoor Otters teacher and works with all of the children in the preschool on a daily basis. Debra is a native San Diegan and offers a nurturing presence and love of science. She works in the Outdoor classroom and loves the experience of watching children grow in their own unique ways. Debra has her Associate Teacher Permit in Child Development and has been teaching at St. Andrew's by-the-Sea Preschool since 2011.

Michelle Drevo

Dolphin Classroom Teacher

Miss Michelle is so excited to be a part of St. Andrews by-the-Sea Preschool. Miss Michelle will be teaching the Dolphin class. She has her Bachelors of Science degree in family and child development. She has been working with young children since 2012 and has enjoyed every minute of it. Michelle loves getting to see children accomplish and move milestones. She says, "It’s wonderful to see when a child accomplishes a task or skill, the look of pride is contagious". Michelle loves working on inspiring children to love to learn. She is a firm believer that children should read a book a night. Michelle  loves to read and instill that love for reading in young children.

Eva Maldonado

Sea Horse Classroom Teacher

Miss Eva is the Sea Horse teacher in the 3 year old classroom. Eva grew up in Mexico and moved to San Diego in 1995. She enjoys teaching the children art and music. She has 14 years of experience teaching preschoolers! Eva has her Associate Teacher Permit in Child Development and has been teaching at St. Andrew's by-the-Sea Preschool since 2012.

Angelica Garcia

Starfish Classroom Teacher  

Miss Gelly is the Starfish teacher in the 2's classroom. Miss Gelly is born and raised in San Diego. She has a passion for working with young children. She is continuing her education in Early Childhood Development, but has had previous experience working with children, from newborn to teenage. Miss Gelly is a firm believer in learning through play and keeping a fun and energetic atmosphere. She is a creative person who enjoys drawing, painting, and puzzles. She is thrilled to aid in the development of the children through arts and crafts.

Molly Halberg

Jellyfish Classroom Teacher

Miss Molly is the Jellyfish teacher in the 2's classroom. She is a San Diego native with a passion for helping young children grow and learn in their own way. She has over 8 years of experience working with children from ages 0 months to 14 years old. Miss Molly loves working with the preschool age and enjoys helping them grow emotionally, cognitively, physically, and academically. She enjoys art, music, and realizes the importance of play in preschool. Prior to coming to St. Andrew's, she was working in a two year old classroom. Her experience also includes being a nanny, volunteering at a non-profit art center, and she volunteered as a leader for youth summer camps in Australia as well as the Dominican Republic. She is continuing her education in Child Development and is thrilled to join our team.

Katie Griffith

Substitute Teacher

Miss Katie is our amazing Substitute Teacher. She worked at KinderCare as a Pre-K teacher for 2 years and at St. Andrew’s by-the-Sea Preschool as a 3’s teacher for 2 years. She took some time off to stay home with both of her children but now that they are starting school she has been blessed with the opportunity to join St. Andrew’s again as a substitute teacher! Katie has 18 ECE units and is continuing her education in Child Development.
